Nia is an exhilarating, somatic, dance-movement, perfect balance of freedom and form, done barefoot to soul-stirring music that draws from a combination of dance, healing and martial art forms.

Yael, as a Nia 2nd Degree Black Belt Somatic Educator, has been facilitating transformation and uplifting the spirit, through Nia classes, workshops and retreats, since 2011.

Her Tuesday and Friday morning classes are a delicious way to wake up, arrive in the body and the day, fill your form with awareness and enlivening life-force JOY.

Having been both a dancer and a musician my whole life, Nia came into my life at a crucial and perfect time 10 years ago.

Most of my classes take place in what I feel is the best venue in Stroud (beautiful Cotswold market town), Lansdown Hall. I also teach in Nailsworth, and stream my two Lansdown Hall classes online. Over the years, I have hosted some magnificent Nia trainers here, and will continue to do so moving forwards.

All that I AM and have trained in, fuels my teaching: I was a trained dancer (in many modalities), I was a concert pianist and am currently also a piano teacher to students of all ages and levels, and I have recently certified as a Transformational Breath Facilitator.

Everything I bring informs everything else I bring.

In Nia I trained to current highest level, Nia 2nd Degree Black Belt, as well as Moving To Heal, Nia Freedance, and Nia 52 moves. I have taken all Nia belts, many of which I have retaken several times.

Taking care of your personal safety during online classes 

If you attend one of my online Zoom classes, then you are responsible for the safety of yourself and of others in the space where you are moving.

  • Please carefully check your footwear and flooring to ensure you face no risk of tripping or slipping.

  • Keep small children and animals out of the way.

  • Check for things around you that might get knocked over or hit as you are moving.

  • Please ensure you have adequate ventilation.

I am not able to see your personal space on my screen, so I can't advise you on moving safely. Only you can know if your space is safe, so please take precautions to make sure it is.
